" The Girl in the Lake "by Stephen Bowe

She Lake, Stpeh Bowe, ed. Montena, 2011
La noia of llac , Steph Bowwe, ed. La Galera - Red Lluna, 2011

The original title of this novel is Girl saves boy that is translated to say "Girl saves boy." I

this little clarification because the title you have as much on the issue in Castilian, as in the Catalan edition loads the meaning and grace of the novel. To begin with the girl in the novel went through the lake, the boy was in the lake and how important is that the girl saves the guy. In a physical and spiritual sense. And besides, boy saves girl and with this act, save herself. Moving from

original owner of the lake The girl I think is part of the game spared by the novel to readers. I guess they wanted to find a more attractive title for more readers, put that beautiful picture of a girl in the middle of a lake that has little to do with the interior, giving the impression that we are dealing with the love story, I dunno, a siren or a barracuda of players, in addition to charging the nice irony of the title. I admit when I saw the first images of the novel in a catalog of new music that taught me a thought that I would find a magical tale, something like what I found in that great John Sayles film, The Secret of Seal Island (in the link, the account of the central legend of this beautiful film). A touch of magic. In reading the story and browse the first few pages and saw that my impression was wrong, I was facing a realist novel. Oops ... I'll have to write a love story between a stranger and special girl with a barracuda. Jewel

Sasha saves from drowning in a lake. With this event we have two people injured by ghosts of past and present fears. Start a friendship that leads to something else. Both drag wounds. Jewel, loneliness and abandonment. Sasha, knowing that only a few months of life. Knowing that they will fight, heal and live. Or at least try with all our strength.

and not disclose anything that it already comes on the back of books.

Lake She has been a very pleasant and unexpected surprise. A history realistic friendship and love between a lot of characters each loaded with their wounds and traumas. The relationship between them will be the catalyst for exposing the fears and silence and do something before it's too late.

Love, family, death, second chances are some of the issues that comes with feeling Steph Bowe and with unusual elegance. Despite what some thorny issues, Bowe scores well because it does not fall into melodramatic excesses or scenes telefilm noon with children dying, dysfunctional family and a lot of crying and a lot of mucus. I will not deny that there are pages with a point too sentimental excess, but is not passed and to say that is justified by the life circumstances of the protagonists.

The characters are well treated, all is quiet and subtle and there is a curious way of using the elliptical narrative. And actions have logical reasons to his character. Moments you share, but I understand. Especially with Jewel. Some of their reactions are reprehensible, but are logical with the past of the character. Faced with so much abandonment and deceit, one more, although unintended, can take the selfish in all of us. Why, how many are willing to love knowing that someone dies in a few months? To love and give all wounds despite the belief it tears again?

is a novel of characters and feelings. Of agreements and disagreements. If anyone expected action or spectacle, has confused novel. Here are a lot of dialogue, many characters sitting and some tears. It is hard topics, but with elegance. I know I've said it before, but I repeat it because that's what I liked. No abuse, no melodrama. And there are loose ends. Not because it has a continuation (or I hope not, come on), but because life leaves them too.

Perhaps the novel lacks body, a more compact structural frame, a treacherous topic to develop a site more some of the issues. But this does not damage, and Lake She is still a good novel that gives a nice reading and characters that not known, are less close.

How To Audition In Yg.sm

"Together" by Ally Condie

Together, Ally Condie, ed. Montena, 2011
Junts , Ally Condie, ed. La Galera - Red Lluna, 2011

is the most important day in the life of Cassia. In order to attend his dinner pairing and know the identity of the couple that the government has allocated. All is well. The company operates. The system works and Cassia is happy. And when he discovers that it has been matched with Xander, her best friend. Everything is perfect and everything works. But when alone in his room, a small computer error will change everything ...

Let's see, some considerations before getting to the point:

1. Together is not a novel.
2. Together have read a million times.
3. Together strictly meets some of the topics that have been institutionalized in this new wave of juvenile dystopia. Namely: Femenia narrator, first person present tense, oppressive future society, controlling, militarized and bureaucratized, strange boy who is different triangle, a secret family, importance of the written word and poetry as a spur to change, and invite others to locate.
4. Together runs almost parallel to the other fashion dystopia is Delirium.
5. Together has characters we already know. Intuit how to act, what they will do, what their role and how will its evolution.
6. Together is the first chapter of saga. Another.
7. Together shows no variation, no originality and no surprise, we need to develop a small aspect, and sometimes, uncover items that appear improvised but ...

... but despite all this, I liked it. Much more than he had imagined. Why?

First of all the universe it creates. I think so. I believe that future bureaucratic and controlling. Gives enough detail to understand where it comes from and how it has come to be that political, social and economic control based on the life and death of its citizens, believing powerful statistics and studies, to believe in the predictability of the feelings of human beings. There are subtle moments in which the author glides information that allows the reader to draw a historical and chronological line. Maybe some data hidden (or improvised) and that plays a little against it, but also justified because the protagonist does not know, and can not know, nothing happens beyond their street.

Second, the tone. The way it is written and explained the novel is quiet and subtle. We are located in Cassia and will through their eyes, experiences, prejudices, memories and thoughts that we will know the rest of the world. For the interior is interesting. Cassia is a good character and Ally Condie makes the evolution of the girl is credible because it is slow, quiet, removing page after page and not run. The birth of the feelings, doubts, fears and misunderstandings. The entire novel has a tone calm, but tense, which keeps the reader trapped between the subtle variations of feelings of the protagonists. A hand, a tear in the film, a shadow covering another shadow, a role. Third

. Fulfilling one of the topics, poetry is of fundamental importance. It all starts with a poem. No love story, but the change of Cassia (this is good because the author makes the evolution of the protagonist not only turn around to be in love with the wrong guy, but the spark is due to other factors. This is fundamental for the credibility of the novel). A poem by Dylan Thomas. And I recognize that surprised me and is one of the reasons by the appreciation Together has grown exponentially. The trail of Farenheti 451 is evident (Cassia excursion to see his father) and delves into the idea that the words and literature that contribute to be, feel or considered free. Write, read, recite, share and remember. Fourth

. It is very sad. And the sad novels I like.

Quinto. Falls into the sentimental excesses, or melodrama, or exaggeration, or the emotional trap. Everything that I twitched and the trustworthiness of me Delirium, here is drawn. Everything is very controlled. The end, for example, is small and measured. And that's just as effective and huge. No tear is sought for the tear and sigh for sigh. There is an obvious manipulation of the reader and I respect that. Ally Condie well constructed his fiction, hidden traps and leaves a novel that works more than fine. Sixth

. It has great scenes. Dinner with Grandpa, the visit to father's work, the desperate race on the treadmill, conversations, poems ... Seventh

. I'm not bored at any time. And that's all merit. Together

is a good and entertaining novel. Nothing more, nothing less.
extra
As I leave the Dylan Thomas poem I mentioned above. The recitation is in its original version. Listening to this voice a run of taste.

not go gentle into that good night.
Old age should burn and rave close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Though wise men at their end know dark is right,
because their words had forked no lightning
not go gentle into that good night.

The good, the last wave by, crying how bright
with Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Wild men who caught and sang the sun in his career
And learn, too late, they grieved it on its way
not go gentle into that good night.

Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight
how blind eyes could blaze like meteors
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

And you my father, there on your sad height
Curse, bless, I now implore with the vehemence of your tears.
not go gentle into that good night.
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

The Meaning Of White Discharge?

Katniss love again? Librinos

hunger games by Suzanne Collins is one of my favorite books last year.

going to make a movie and the one chosen for the role of miii superprotagonista is Jennifer Lawrence.

I get excited just thinking about seeing a movie of this book.

I think Jennifer will have a lot of pressure because the fans of this book are thousands and Katniss is a character of gold. can see that I am one of the fans, nooo. ^ _ ^

Katniss is 16, lives in a world divided into twelve districts, ruled by the Capitol. Each year the Capitol randomly selects one boy and one girl from each district, meets in a forest, valley, etc, and can only leave one alive. It is a game of life or death. 24 boys, only one survivor. Katniss's sister is chosen, but only has 11 years, and Katniss chooses to go for it. Thus began the hunger games.

I hope that it a good movie.

Dawn Mckenzie Countdown

Read "The spirit of last summer," Susana Vallejo

The spirit of last summer , Susana Vallejo, Edebe, 2011
L'esperit de l'estiu Finally, Susana Vallejo, Edebe, 2011

Youth Literature Prize 2011 Edebé

could not be otherwise. Was to open the package and meet with the first copies of the latest novel by Susana Vallejo and homework. Could not be otherwise. The brand always sponsor of this blog has a new novel in George Street and the left. And in little more than a day reading novels, swallowed and enjoyed in each of its pages.

A dream Fran makes a return to The Tree House, where he spent the summers of his youth and is now about to be demolished to make way for a new highway. They remember and recover the spirit of that last summer and get close the circle opened the day and distant with his family found a map that would lead to great treasure of hopscotch.

This novel confirms Susana Vallejo as one of the best writers of juvenile literature in this country as it is only and solely to the story that explains how this novel becomes an experience so pleasant. Because we recognize that the story we already know Susana explains. We have seen and read thousands of times: an adult who returns to the places of their childhood or adolescence to close a chapter, to say goodbye and remember the moment when everything changed (I comes to mind in particular the novel by Stephen King The body and that mythical film adaptation was Count me), but Susan's voice that history is again being fresh and new: it smells like truth. And all by a retail boom and loving. By focusing so shrewd in describing the subtle odors that accompany the magical summer nights seventeen.

The plot is simple and has a mystery at least used to drive all the memory and the novel. Of course, the mystery is a dream we've all had in the summer (and some have tried to bring to reality): find a treasure (and I Goonies come to mind). Through this excuse Susana constructed a novel full of vivid characters. Eternalized threads of this family are true. Anyone who like me have grown up amid a family cries, fights for truth and joke discuss why it is better and organizes paella cooking contests nonsense, typical of those families that "they love and hate at the same time." For this Susana uses four strokes well given, to give a very clear and distinct voice to each character with their cuttings and their characteristics. The characters smack of truth.

The explicit theme of the novel, the passage from adolescence to early maturity is treated in an elegant and dignified. In this story, no drama, no hard times, there is indifference, but without falling into melodrama or exaggeration in which tends to run part of the realistic young adult novel. Susan manages to dodge this dangerous topic of this literature to present this step as traumatic and always involves drugs, violence and, if possible, a couple of deaths. This step is someone normal. With his jokes, his follies, insecurities and her broken heart. Little more ... and nothing less.

And despite the change log Susana Vallejo returns to the issues raised in his wonderful tetralogy of Porta Coeli and Switch in the network : memory, rebirth, journey, magic, adventure and wonder in everyday life. And all with the spirit and calm mood of the best memories. Of when the summers were endless and eternal sunny afternoons.

'm a girl almost ghost

Hello

In the latest issue of Print magazine, the Bookseller Cuesta, published a comment I made about Ghostgirl Tonya Hurley.
was a while ago and for some mysterious reason, I thought I'd share here and it does not. Or I did and gone. (It will be because of some girl ghost?). Well, then I share it now, heh.

Ghostgirl is a book by American author Tonya Hurley, who has penetrated the American youth audience, becoming a bestseller New York Times and is now finding its little hole among Hispanic adolescents.
The novel has a very striking cover, simulating a coffin and warns that it is a text with Gothic overtones. In the back is a phrase that captures the attention of the adolescent: Ever you felt invisible? And we all feel invisible at times during those years, beautiful and terrible for which we are not adults, but definitely ... we're not children.
A zero and it feels like Charlotte Usher in high school, although he spent all summer trying to imitate Petula and her friends: the most popular girls school. However, a ray of sunshine through the gray sky of Charlotte's life, gets to sit next to Damen, the prettiest girl in school and who, "coincidentally" is the petulant Petula's boyfriend. (That doom!)
But happiness will not last long at Charlotte because moments after being closer than ever to the gorgeous Damen, chokes on a sweet gum and dies . Yes, likewise. Quick and simple. Well, not so simple, because even dead escaped from high school.
Charlotte will have to attend classes at Muertología, during which he must learn to stop being a troublesome ghost and become a dead responsible. A kind of " and stop being a ghost in ten days." What does make clear is Charlotte than dead or not, still in love with Damen and make it impossible to conquer.
The Ghostgirl history seems to be more than a comic novel, but as we progress in reading, we realize that poses a very serious question : How far are you willing to go to be popular in your school? Would you do what others want but these are not your desires? For many it is clear that guys who do "anything " for being the most popular are those who feel most unhappy. As unhappy as those who leave abuse and isolate the group. The ghost girl Tonya Hurley suggests that Neither extreme is good.
I have no more than invite you to read (or give) the novel Ghostgirl Tonya Hurley, who already had success as a screenwriter, producer and plays video games . Charlotte
Hopefully not "burn" in Muertología classes.

Note: "Burning" is a term used by young Dominicans and that means failing an exam.

How Much Would It Cost Rent A Speadboat

Anglology Danielle Trussoni is a book that was in my spine Now I read and which was pending review. It's actually a book that I liked and more ... I have not finished reading and I do it right now. The subject was shown
fascinating struggle between the Nephilim, descendants of the union between angels and humans, and angelólogos, those who have fought for centuries in the eternal battle of good against evil. The Angels are one of my favorite and I've always been fascinated by them, so I took Angelology sharpening their teeth and salivating with anticipation.

But as they passed the leaves to the left was overshadowing my excitement. I tried to convince me that the next chapter, on the next page good start, action, adventure and intrigue that would not let me sleep until the wee hours of the morning. I could not but feel irritated by a book that seemed a long introduction to a story that had just arrived and that advertising had me sold as the flagship of the new wave burning angels in children's literature.
I only left a bad taste in my mouth. O little flavor.

I give 2 out of 5 stars.

We read!

Nimira delighted accepts without suspecting that within a few days will be immersed in a complex intrigue between the world of fairies, witches and hidden secrets ambitious doors. And you will love the automaton, a pianist with the heart metal. Well

. I liked. Quick read, charming and with an amalgam of interesting references and influences. Although I read somewhere that this novel was associated with the steampunk universe, I do not agree. I think Jaclyn Dolamore lies more under the influence of that wonderful all of the late eighteenth and early nineteenth ETA Hoffmann was already explored the world of robots in the story The PLC s and more especially in The Man arena where you see a musical automaton, the beautiful Olympia (story later became an opera by Offenbach grace of one of the greatest musical geniuses history. If you link to the song you are going to Olympia in the privileged throat Natalie Dessay. You can die of irony, grace and beauty). I think this is where you can find the first source and the novel germ Dolamore.

To this is added a fairy universe out of the legends of the nineteenth century, a point well past Jane Eyre, some conventions of the current junior novel, a little Gothic novel Udolpho to head a lot of magic, a little Mizayaki, a good player, an antagonist too steep, a boy trapped, agile and clear style, a nice story, an exciting finale y. .. pam ... Mechanical Heart becomes a charming little book with no other aim than to be a modern fairy tale, never better. Mechanical Heart

is a chamber piece. Few characters, few stages and intrigue minimal, but well conducted (although already known and some seasoned reader guessing to the third page ... but do not think this is what matters to the author). Maybe I'm missing a little music and exploration of the society that has witches, fairies, etc. I'm hungry for more street and the characters almost never leave the house of Mr. Parris. And the impression I have left that world is a blur. But that's all volcanic chump like a fairy tale because it works. And with the traditional roles of prince, princess and wicked witch enchanted exchanged an ingenious way.

What I hope is that this story is over here and not the beginning of a series or a trilogy or sextalogía or so. As work is round. The elements just, proper development and end just full of excitement and romance without falling into melodrama or excess tear (somewhat understandable given the novel its point of view in the literature of the eighteenth century and the golden mean.) Not so, and soon we will have a more mechanical heart to tarnish the freshness of Part. Every day I am more tired and I miss those days sagas of stories that ended in a novel. Sometimes I wondered what would have been Wuthering Heights, Pride and Prejudice , Around the world in eighty days Dracula so if they had been written today. Personally

until further notice, I'll take this small novel camera that provides an enjoyable read and leaves a good aftertaste. In addition, it is always nice to read a novel robots. Although in this case other than that I like to me: those that destroy cities and dominate the world.

PS If anyone is interested in the topic of robots in history and literature (whose presence begins Iliad) I can not recommend the wonderful book Prometheus's rival the publisher Impedimenta published a couple of years.

What Male Genital Piercing Feels Best For Women

"Delirium" by Lauren Oliver

Delirium, Lauren Oliver, ed. Cruïlla, 2011
Delirium, Lauren Oliver, ed. SM, 2011

SM's big bet for the Sant Jordi and one of those books that appear overnight in the forums, news and blogs bombing readers. At the bookstore we received a editorial package with just a sheet of advertising reminding us that in a couple of days would be in bookstores the novel by Lauren Oliver. It organizes the most challenging I guess you've heard many opinions and appear before the novel reaches bookstores. And all for the first installment of a science fiction novel of an unknown author whose first book went so unnoticed (words of the publisher). Novel comes to the library, I took it home, read it and asked me. Is it worth so much noise Delirium? Yes .. and no.

At an unspecified future, after some indeterminate war. At last the government has a cure for this disease common call is love. At last the suffering, palpitations, suicidal thoughts, lack of appetite, etc.. has its cure. The inhabitants of cities are undergoing a simple operation to turn 18 and stop feeling. Everything is quiet and everything becomes simple. Lena is looking forward to the day of operation for the cure and can start life with a partner assigned. But, of course, the appearance of a boy, the strange behavior of her best friend and going slowly discovering his family's hidden secrets Lena will reconsider his whole life and everything she believed. Delirium

sign up, and jumping all distances in terms of quality and transcendence, in the tradition of the holy trinity of dystopias antisentimentales: 1984 , Fahrenheit 451 and Brave New World . Most explicit references are made (the government's control, the rewriting of history, the three laws paradoxical transcendence of poetry, the fear of wild animals, etc.) And are assumed as background and inspiration. Perhaps too, because one of the drawbacks I put Oliver's novel is that I just think the whole world. I think a decoration rather than a reality. I need explanation. I need history. How, when and why. I assume and hope that in the next parts of the saga explain better in this new society and how it arose. There are flashes and small references, but as a reader I need a little more beer.

But I liked this novel? Yes, ma non troppo . Explained. Delirium think one of the best juvenile novels I've read so far this year, but I can not declare total fan and consider this novel a work almost perfect as I have read elsewhere. I think it is brilliant parts, but that falls somewhere in excess and, in my opinion, some ingenuity. I justify my answer. Best of Delirium is how Oliver has created, shaped and launched the character Lena. Love and care. We find a well-wrought characters, told with love and care. Its evolution over the pages is consistent and the author presents a contradictory girl, frightened, confused and living. No longer a kind of character we're used to (girl modosita and plain little family secret that makes it different, etc.), But it worked. Likewise, her best friend Hana escapes the local color that will arise in other novels the "Best of ..." and also stands as a unique character with whom the reader empathizes. The figures are well-treated side, good counterpoint to the protagonist. The boy ... well ... is perhaps the worst character. Too perfect, much as usual. Seamless and lifeless.

Lauren Oliver's style is unhurried, elegant and effective. Set the mood and I am grateful to be an author who takes the time to introduce the characters and action, which does not fall into the traps of constant speed and fast action. Yes, forty pages would not have done less damage to this novel as it falls into some repetition and acknowledge that there are chapters that marched through my eyes as I mentally went over the shopping list.

But ... something squeaks ... I guess it's a sentimental excess or a peak of emotion that seeks Oliver crebilidad crashing my reader. It's hard to talk about hassle-free parts of the novel, but the moment Montecristo or abuse of the word love . I squeak. I do see the seams of the novel. I get the impression of being artifacts of great sentimental manipulation of a large trap. I know that literature is a lie and writers puppeteers, but I demand that you do not see those traps. And parts of me seem Delirium echos with the sole purpose of exciting the reader, not because the novel or story really demands it. Search excessively obvious emotion, impact. As your final images. Too ... so calm the whole novel and the ending is too extreme ... to lead to crying, not narrative logic. I do not find credible. I think the whole issue of love, removal, etc.. And being the center of the novel, the same center me swallow hard.

prefer talks on the beach, racing with his best friend and reading poems. The excitement is just, the sentiments, true and honest story.

Weave Hair That Rihanna Uses?

"Genesis" by Bernard Beckett

Genesis, Bernard Beckett, ed. Salamandra, 2009
Gènesi , Bernard Beckett, ed. Polar Star, 2009

Genesis came recommended by a good customer of the store and owner of a large web page about science fiction, fantasy and terror. I referring to the great library of The Library of Kraken. He spoke to me and recommended me this short novel much calling it a reading that had enjoyed. As I like to heed their advice, a weekend I caught a very clear example and zampa me a shot. And yes, Genesis is a very good novel and has an inspiring story that invites reflection and being caught in the tangle that cleverly weaves Beckett.

argument points back cover of the issue of Salamander.

In the not too distant future, a student named Anaximander is submitted to rigorous entrance exam to the Academy, the governing body the utopian society in which he grew up. Over several grueling sessions, the court's questions, which raise important ethical and philosophical issues, the way to discovering a truth that will shake the foundation on which sits the world.

Vale. As we noted in Alendax your review of this novel, this is a science fiction novel. I know that in saying this, many readers have pulled back, but I think it is my duty to call upon all those outside the genre that give an opportunity for a different novel, exciting, addictive and very complex. We are facing a short novel (barely cientosesenta pages if I remember correctly) but written with the wisdom of the right word. Nothing superfluous, nothing missing and everything is about something.

The novel is structured through a conversation. Question, answer. Reply contraréplica. This form of narration, the reader far from boring, full of liveliness and grace to the story. A story about politics, philosophy, life and death. That addresses issues such as the rewriting of history, social utopias, artificial life, evolution, revolution and death. And all with a lively style, fresh, sour, biting, ironic and precise.

The characters are exciting. Characterized with four strokes that breathes life and realism. In addition, and playing with the themes of the novel, allowing large doses of ambiguity as some of the main actants appear from the viewpoint of other characters. There is a game of identity (one of the main themes of the story) that the reader has to complete. Because this is a novel that asks the reader to make an effort. Involved in the puzzle and draw your conclusions. Think and act. Because as any science fiction novel that boasts, Genesis is nothing more than a story set in the future to talk about our present.

A powerful and be surprised given the lace perfect end to a great novel (though the author has kept an ace up manga and I can not help but feel some soreness for a very justified and necessary trap) full of great concepts, intelligent and readers looking for something more than mere entertainment. That is why books like this that reading and diving among youth literature deserves such a long sentence.

Can I Use Mr Clean Eraser On Stove Top Grease

"The prodigy Gerard Guix

prodigy, Gerard Guix, ed. Polar Star, 2011

One of the biggest bets of the Polar Star editorial for this Sant Jordi. A tale of intrigue, horror, action, adventure, romance and werewolves. Written with gusto, with nerve, with trade, but with missing pages dramatically. And is that while Gerard Guix writes with gusto, do not get me the story credible. Axel

just moved to Barcelona. Her parents are newly divorced, has no friends, suffered some harassment at school and her body is changing. Too much hair, too large and tusk growing fondness for raw meat. An acquaintance suggests that becoming a werewolf. His mysterious uncle Odin seems to have answers. It gruesome murders start happening in the streets of Barcelona. And in the air breathe the air of war. Axel will have to decide.

I said. For me this novel quietly hundred pages missing. It is odd to say this, I know. Usually always ask for less. I hate the straw in a novel and I always look that the writer has set the text to what he calls the story, not what they ask outside elements. But in this case I'm missing things. And this absence causes the novel to mind something that's the worst that can happen to a great story cut: I do not credible.

Axel accept the fantasy element too soon. The protagonist is a boy of fourteen years who suddenly start to happen a number of physical changes too important to take them to the strength presented in the novel. There is little doubt, some fear. Suddenly it is normal that the tusks grow, eating raw meat, to appear Gothic and release a chasing vampires and come face to face with a werewolf. I need a point of realism and psychological development of characters. Axel especially not block me ... too childish at first and suddenly it's someone else. It is the opposite of what was happening in the great invocation , the appearance of the fantastic in the life of the protagonist is told realistically and with the reactions that a normal teenager would. I think it is too hasty. The same thing happens to me with the rest of the cast (perhaps with the exception of Nadia). Figures are more or less recognizable, but they lack weight. Yes, the word is rushed. As if too eager to get down in the fighting and action and would have left out the characters care. It is juvenile fantasy novel and, yes, but if something Suzanne Collins has taught us is that the moral and psychological complexity of the characters can and should be required. And this small oversight in shaping the characters wonder someone as knowledgeable in the trade as Guix ... Why I think more editorial pressure (action, action, action) than anything else? Saving

this obstacle we have a very entertaining novel of action, terror and mystery. Gerard Guix shows a taste and a great job to create the environment terror that the novel demands. The descent into the subway is a good example. Know how to count and play with the darkness and create a good atmosphere of suspense. The action scenes are fast, agile and well explained. And it saves the novel gory details if required. Because we have a violent history, hard, dirty and full of blood. One of the highlights of the novel is an example of this, a scene in a Chinese restaurant is a small tour through the different levels of terror, both physical and psychological.

plays well with the city as a character (although I miss more streets, more names of stations, more specific location) and converts the subway tunnels another character (with other locations that'll shut up). And thank you very much Gerard Guix has not fallen into the trap so common to show a picture postcard city. Get the literary Barcelona real. With its beauty and ugliness. Grace's life, but the smell of urine from other streets.

and confirms that teddy bears are very bad feeling.

prodigy presents a world interesting and promising, a final powerful atmosphere and ambiance and very collected. Too bad the characters are missing a firing point I expect to see in its continuation. I just hope that Gerard Guix take your time and mime to his creatures. The story is worth it.

And by the way, I have chosen the side. The view from Montjuic are beautiful.
